Introduction Post

So, I've never had a blog before. I remember in middle school live journal or whatever was popular, but the idea of posting my ideas for the whole world to see is in no way appealing to me. I like journals for my own personal sake, but I have no desire for the rest of the world to read my thoughts. However, to complete the assigment:

My Experiences with Technology.
I can use a computer, and I'm fairly efficient with word. I'm familiar with excel, we used it in calculus class, and I used to use it when I was a piano teacher. I kept different sheets with different student's account balances on it. I had formulas to automatically compute different infomation for me. I'm familiar with basic HTML. In middle school, when my brother decided to start learning about HTML, I learned it with him. I actually made some pages then with info about songs I liked and such, just saved on my computer. Then, a few months ago, I decided that I wanted a journal on my computer, but not on word since word only looks final when printed. So I now have an elaborate HTML page, with different looks each day depending on how I'm feeling, and all the pages linked to one another. I know very little about powerpoint. I can navigate other people's powerpoints, but I've never made one on my own. I'm familiar with the concepts, though.

In this class, I hope to learn, well firstly, how to use powerpoint. More than that, however, I basically just learn how to use technology in the classroom, as the class title, Introduction to Education Technology, would suggest. It would be cool if we learned anything about HTML or Java or anything, but I don't think that's a purpose of this class, or helpful in the classroom. Maybe I'll learn to enjoy blogging.

I took the
learning questionaire, and scored in the middle basically of everything. The scale gives you 11 points either way for four different categories. I was 1 over to being Active over Reflective, 3 over to being Sensing over Intuitive, 1 over for being Verbal over Visual, and 1 over for being Sequential over Global. Basically I'm pretty well rounded, I guess. I already knew I was a tactile/kinesthetic learner, so being active didn't surprises me, and the others all seemed understandable. Nothing really shocked me, but I found the results interesting. I like tests that categorize me, personality tests, intelligence tests, learning styles, etc.

Andrea,

Awsome. Lets see your website. You can definitely learn at least a little more about html. Also; you can set your blog so that people in public can't read it, but we will need to figure out how to make sure I can still get in to grade your blog posts. I play piano to. I thought about teaching but never had the guts. How did that go?
